Buyer beware!

Buyer beware!

Automatic renewal and a system that is extremely difficult to actually cancel the renewal.

Deeply frustrating and very poor consumer practice.

Avoid this company.

If you gift a Masterclass subscription be warned that it is forever

MasterClass is a brilliant platform, but they let themselves down when it comes to their billing. After gifting a one-year membership to my mother, I have been re-charged for a second year without any notification for a subscription that is not being used and am not getting any help from them to resolve this.

Be aware...

Some content is well made, kinda stays at the surface of things though.
All I can say: canceling renewal is a pain.
Need to go to the website if you got a subscription there, loading your subscription takes ages, after the website loads extremely fast.
Why can't a legit company have you manage your own account in an app where one has identified themselves? Too fishy for me.

Poor tech ruins a good experience

Content seems good and they have top speakers from all fields but the platforms are fraught with technical issues!
The iPad app keeps freezing and sometimes some content plays but not others. Poor tech is destroying a good experience

I bought a gift for my 97 year old…

_Update: MasterClass ultimately refunded these auto charges__which was appreciated!__I bought a gift for my 97 year old father of a 1 year subscription to Masterclass. I set up the account for him and paid the $194 subscription fee. He used the service for a good part of the first year. The subscription AUTO Renewed unbeknownst to me. I recently discovered this on my credit card account and quickly realized it had auto renewed twice. Once just recently and the other 1 year ago. Masterclass refunded the most recent charge of $194, but refused to refund the previous auto charge (because it was outside their 30 day refund policy. They are aware my father was not using the service after the first year (I sure they track usage closely) and still are sticking to their "policy". A gift, should _never_ auto renew! I should be a simple process to give as a gift, without the auto renewal billing. This kind of behavior and customer service reflects badly on, an otherwise good product.

Offers a wide variety of courses containing valuable information from the experts! I’ve enjoyed each class and session I’ve been a part of so far. I was especially impressed with ‘Christina Aguilera: Elevate Your Singing and Stage Presence’ - the session provides very helpful tips and lots of technical pointers!

Waste Of Money

I signed up to Masterclass, and quickly realized I'd made a mistake. The classes are a complete waste of time. Super high level, no actionable insights, no real insights at all really. Mostly just celebrities and minor celebrities believing their hype. I got a refund so thumbs up for that I guess.

automatic $180 renewal? no, thank you.

why would they auto-renew the suscription without any previous notifications? such a dumb idea, and honestly, mildly infuriating. luckily, i got to see the receipt they sent me right on time, before refund was too late.
i think the service in itself also lacks variation. maybe it's because of my personal interests, but i know that it's up to anyone, because of different tastes.

I was so excited to try this there is…

I was so excited to try this there is so much for my whole family! And then the first time I logged in the first video that popped up was Hilary Clinton….any website/business that thinks she has anything of value to say is not for me. Really disappointed!!!
